micropython.nvim

Write MicroPython in Neovim, then run it, upload it and talk to your device without leaving the editor.

micropython.nvim is a Neovim plugin for working on MicroPython boards such as the Raspberry Pi Pico. It’s for anyone who writes code for a microcontroller and would rather do it from Neovim. Under the hood it uses mpremote, MicroPython’s official tool.

Everything is one command, :MP, with tab completion.

Run and upload

Run the current file on the device without copying it, or upload the project and keep its folders. Turn on upload on save and each file you save is uploaded to the device.

REPL in a split

Keep the MicroPython prompt open next to your code and send it a line, a selection or the whole buffer.

Files on the device

Browse, edit, download and delete the files stored on the device as if they were local.

Editor support

Start a project with type stubs matched to the connected device, so the language server knows machine, rp2 and the rest.
